Best Stoner Movies

So, you’re looking for a stoner movie to enjoy a spliff to? Fortunately for you, you came to the right place. I am going to walk you down memory lane and provide you a list of the best stoner movies of all time according to marijuana enthusiasts.

The Cheech and Chong Movies (All of Them)

Cheech and Chong are the godfathers of stoners everywhere. These guys took the drug war propaganda on the stereotypes of the pothead and created an entire subculture of followers that still holds true till this day. From Classics like “Up in Smoke”, “Next Movie”, “Nice Dreams” to their animated movie in 2013, there’s plenty of Stoner-ness to be found with this red-eyed duo.

Pineapple Express

Seth Rogen is a known stoner because of movies like Pineapple Express. I’ve probably watched this movie a hundred times and it still holds its ground. Pineapple Express is about a mediocre stoner and his dealer that find themselves being hunted by a drug lord after the protagonist witnesses a murder.

As with all Seth Rogen movies, there’s a bunch of humor, “bromancing” and cannabis fueled scenes. Definitely something you can watch again if you’ve seen it already.

Half Baked

I’d go as far as to say that Half Baked should be the “Stoner 101: Introduction to Stoning” movie. This 1998 classic will take you on a journey of stoner stereotypes. You’ll get the “Enhancement Stoner” played by Jon Stewart, “Scavenger Stoner” played by Snoop Dog and plenty of other colorful characters throughout the movie.

Starring the hilarious Dave Chapelle as “Thurgood Jenkins”, a ‘custodian’ working at a pharmaceutical company that just so happens to grow reefer. If you haven’t watched this movie…you’re not a stoner.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

This movie, about the adventures of Hunter S. Thompson, portrayed by Johnny Depp is a masterpiece. While the movie is about every drug known to humankind, the flick is a trip. Based off the book with the same title, the movie follows the protagonist to Las Vegas where he is supposed to be covering some desert race, while he’s on a personal mission to discover “The American Dream”.

It’s deep, it’s hallucinogenic and definitely something you’ll want to watch when you’re getting blazed. So spark one up and stream that shit!

Smiley Face

Smiley Face is the story of a stoner girl Jane, who is played by Anne Faris and tries to get through her ‘busy day ahead’ in Los Angeles. The problem, she eats a bunch of pot infused brownies that her room mate made, and embarks on a misadventure for the ages.

While this movie is not ‘as known’ as the rest of the movies on the list, it’s definitely something worth watching. I was skeptical at first, but if you’re blazed enough…you’ll relate to many thing portrayed within the movie.

And there you have it, a few good ol’l stoner movies to help you through the night. Spark a bowl and enjoy!
